Fuentes de la General Estoria, RFE, XXI, 1934, 1-28. In this study and a following one in RFE, XXIII, 1936, 113-142, he identifies the Libro de las Provincias, an important source of geographical information which in his introduction he had speculated to be an Arabic source (I, XVI, n. 1), with Books XIV and XV of the universal Etymologies of Isidore of Seville (560-636). The «Libro de las noblezas e marauillas de Roma» refers to the Graphiae aureae urbis Romae, one of a series of medieval guides to the holy city. The Libro del Computo, of «Numma Pompilio», «el abad Dionis» and «Beda», he is unable to distinguish among a multitude of works on the calendar, all deriving ultimately from Bede's treatise on the subject. He has been unable to determine the exact compilation to which a reference to the Physiologus (I, 90a, 570b) refers (El Physiologus en la General Estoria, Mélanges Baldensperger, Paris, 1930, II, 251-254.
