The article of Daniel Devoto, «Amadís de Galia», BHi, 74 (1972), 406-35, deals with the French translations, and the book of Hilkert Weddige, Die Historien vom Amadis auss Franckreich (Wiesbaden: Steiner, 1975), with the German ones. I have reviewed the latter in JHP, 1 (1977), 157-58.

Madrid: CSIC, 1959-69, in four volumes (Volume I, «reimpresión aumentada», 1971); the reliability of Volumes III and IV of this edition has been questioned by Roger M. Walker, RPh, 33 (1980), 448-59. (There are earlier fragmentary texts, of course: the fragments identified by Antonio Rodríguez-Moñino, «El primer manuscrito del Amadís de Gaula», BRAE, 36 [1956], 199-216, included in his Relieves de erudición [del Amadís a Goya] [Madrid: Castalia, 1959], pp. 17-38, and now a claim by Manuel Rodrigues Lapa that there exists in Madrid a thirteenth- or fourteenth-century fragment of the romance in gallego-portugués, which he has not seen [«A questão do Amadis de Gaula no contexto peninsular», Grial, No. 27 (1970), 14-281).

The first volume (Volume II of the set Studi sul Palmerín de Olivia) contains the Introduzione al Palmerín de Olivia of Guido Mancini (published in Spanish translation in the volume Dos estudios de literatura española [Barcelona: Planeta, 1970], pp. 7-202) and the second volume consists of Saggi e richerche.
